WebP to PNG converter

Many websites serve images as WebP, which older apps and some upload forms reject. Convert them to PNG, transparency included, in a couple of seconds.

Convert to

Private by design: everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

How to convert WebP to PNG

  1. Add the .webp files you saved from the web.
  2. PNG is already selected, so transparent backgrounds are kept.
  3. Each image converts in a second or two.
  4. Download the PNGs individually or as a ZIP.

Why can't I open WebP files?

Every modern browser supports WebP, but older image viewers, some versions of Microsoft Office and many upload forms don't. Converting to PNG makes the image work everywhere without losing quality.

Need a smaller file for a photo? WebP to JPG gives much smaller files when transparency doesn't matter.

Frequently asked questions

Why do images save as WebP?

Most large websites serve WebP because it is 25โ€“35% smaller than JPG or PNG. Your browser saves the file in the format it was served in.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. WebP and PNG both support transparency, so stickers, logos and cut-out images keep their see-through areas.

Can I convert animated WebP?

Only the first frame is converted to a still PNG. Animated output is not supported yet.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser on your own device, so your images never reach our servers.
